The source material for this study is the first tone sequence of the piece “1981” by the Estonian composer Lepo Sumera. The overall acoustic impression of this phrase (as a Note as well as an Eton) is individually changed by different dynamic motions on the cross and line fader of the mixer. Like cutting a sheet of paper, the original form of the sound material can be transformed at will.
